Concessionaria Ecovias dos Imigrantes S.A.

The “Anchieta-Imigrantes” motorway system is the most important road connection between the cities of São Paulo and Santos, the country’s most important port. It consists of two main motorways (Rodovia dos Imigrantes and Via Anchieta), link roads and secondary roads for a total of 176 km. The concession holder had ISO 9002 certification and in 2002 also obtained ISO 14001 certification for its advanced standards and procedures for protection of the environment. The fixed-charge toll payments are collected at 7 toll stations. The toll traffic is about 120,000 equivalent vehicles per day. The work to upgrade and double the existing motorway (phase1, Rodovia Anchieta, two 2-lane carriageways) began in 1999. Phase 2 (the most important works, completed at the end of 2002) involved the doubling of the Rodovia dos Imigrantes, the second downhill motorway towards the sea, with construction of two carriageways with three 3.76 m lanes and an emergency lane.
